It was indicating low battery so we changed all the batteries.  That didn&#039;t fix all the problems. A Schlage tech told us the 9 volt had to have a use by year of 2023.  We couldn&#039;t find any past 2019. But would replacing with a better 9v, like a 10 year battery actually last lots longer? 2nd question, what type of device is this considered? That has been the case with some other products. Check with the manufacturer to be sure. As to your second question I&#039;m not sure I understand.
