We have an electronic Schlage door lock that is not working properly now. It was indicating low battery so we changed all the batteries. That didn't fix all the problems. A Schlage tech told us the 9 volt had to have a use by year of 2023. We couldn't find any past 2019. Do they make 9 volt alkaline batteries with a use by date of 3023 or later?

I understand the directions for 9v battery replacement calls for an Alkaline 9v battery. But would replacing with a better 9v, like a 10 year battery actually last lots longer? 2nd question, what type of device is this considered? Same as a digital camera or low powered device?
It maybe that a characteristic of a longer life battery may not be compatible with the lock. That has been the case with some other products. Check with the manufacturer to be sure. As to your second question I'm not sure I understand. Can you explain further please.
